The Brightwater Downspout Design project consists of two sculptures that will flank entrances to the EECC exhibition area. Inspired by natural forms and functions as well as pragmatic aspects of how we manage water, the artwork will reference the intricate structures through which water flows in nature to bring sustenance, and the similar structures we create to channel this resource for ourselves. The sculptures will be crafted from durable materials‹iron and stainless steel‹to provide thoughtful, elegant focal points. With sustainability in mind, the sculptures will require no maintenance, pumps, or electricity. Relying only on roof shed water, they will evoke the presence of water whether it is raining or not.
